Knitting is therapeutic. Losing myself to the slow, relaxing repetition of knitting makes me feel good no matter how long my day has been. It’s like a warm mint tea or a below-zero beer on a Friday night.
I started about 4 years ago, but I’m no pro. In fact, I have very basic know-how when it comes to any form of crafting. I came to love knitting when my friend Couch Princess started making her own blanket and a pair of socks. Back then I had so much time and I gave it a try.
Dreams Yarnshoppe is the first yarn store I’ve visited since I started knitting. It’s a small shop in the 3rd level of Glorietta 5, Makati. This place is my Toy Kingdom or Candy Corner. You see kids drool over toys and candies, I feel that with yarns. A skein is like a pretty fluffy squishy cotton candy.
A couple of years ago, they didn’t have much online presence. You need to go to the store to get what you need. Now they have Dreams Yarns, an online store to cater to the needs of craft enthusiasts away from their place.
I was with Couch Princess last Wednesday and decided to drop by. I was looking for Wildberries Homespun yarn for my 18-month old knitted throw project. Too bad they don’t have Lion Brand stuff. I got myself a bamboo knitting needles instead. Although they didn’t have what I need, a visit to this store is still always a treat.
